YOGA & SUP/surf

When the warmer weather is here, we bring to you YOGA & SUP/SURF sessions with Shields Surf.

A mixed level yoga session followed by an hour of stand up paddle boarding or surfing (depending on water conditions).

No experience of yoga, stand up paddle boarding or surfing is required. The awesome guys at Shields Surf will guide you through everything you need to know in the water.

WHERE?

We will check the water conditions the morning of the event and this will determine whether we SUP or surf after yoga. If we are SUPing after yoga, yoga will be held at Littlehaven Beach opposite Littlehaven Beach Car Park. If we are surfing after yoga, yoga will be held on Sandhaven Beach opposite South Shields Surf School. We send an email to confirm the location the morning of the event. Check your junk mail if you haven’t received anything.

PRICE?

The price you see below is the drop-in price just for the yoga. Check out our class passes and memberships for a more discounted rate.

You’ll pay for the SUP/surf on arrival to South Shields Surf.

Prices are £12.50 if you just want equipment hire or £17.50 if you want equipment hire and a lesson

When you book the session, you’ll be asked if you want:

  • to just join us for beach yoga

  • equipment hire plus a lesson if we SUP (good if you’re new to it)

  • just equipment hire if we SUP (good if you’ve done it before and feel comfortable out on your own)

  • equipment hire plus a lesson if we surf (good if you’re new to it)

  • just equipment hire if we surf (good if you’ve done it before and feel comfortable out on your own)

Please note our beach yoga events are non-refundable. They can be transferred to a friend or family member if you can’t come.

EXTRA INFO

Clothing
Wear your usual exercise stuff (anything you find comfortable) and trainers for yoga. Please bring extra layers and a towel for before and after the session. Bring swimwear for paddle boarding.

Other items to bring
You need a yoga/exercise mat. I am sure you all know that the weather by The North Sea can be unpredictable and exercise mats don't do too well in the wind, so if you have some hand weights definitely bring them along to pop on the edges of your mat. Otherwise, you may be spending most of the session running after your flying mat. If you don't have hand weights, anything else that's got a bit of weight to it will do (cans of beans, a book, big water bottle etc.). Also, don't forget your water bottle, sweat towel, gloves, warm layers and thick socks.

Feel free to bring your own tea/coffee and (well-deserved) snacks to enjoy after the session.

The weather is getting warmer so please bring sun screen and plenty of water.

If we have to cancel a session due to extremely bad weather, you will receive a credit to use on your account for another session.
