PREGNANCY YOGA

First of all, HUGE congratulations on your pregnancy. There are so many benefits to practising yoga during your pregnancy, so I’m glad you’re here! There are a number of ways you can practise yoga with us during your pregnancy, and they all depend on how much yoga you have done prior. Please note that we do not recommend practising high energy yoga or starting yoga if you have never practised it before, in your 1st trimester.

NO YOGA EXPERIENCE?

The following options are suitable during all trimesters and no previous experience of yoga is required:

  • Our live in-studio/online Pregnancy-Friendly classes. You can see which classes are Pregnancy-Friendly on our schedule here. You can practise with us in-studio or online via Zoom. Please note that these classes aren't pregnancy specific so there will be non-pregnancy people in the class, which is great as it means you can attend with your partner or friends. Most of these classes are taught by Claire L, who is a certified Pre and Post-Natal Yoga Teacher. She will be able to guide you through your practice offering lots of options for you to take as and when it’s necessary. If another teacher is teaching / covering this class, they may not be prenatal certified but they will be able to give you some advice on adapting your yoga class during pregnancy. Please always consult your doctor if you are wanting to practise yoga during pregnancy, and always let the teacher know at the start of the class.

  • Our On Demand Video Hub Pregnancy-Friendly classes. You can rent each video for £3 for 3 days or pay £12 a month to have access to all of our Pregnancy-Friendly Classes and the rest of our On Demand Library which contains over 100 pre-recorded videos. Check them out here.

A LITTLE YOGA EXPERIENCE?

If you have practised a little bit of yoga before and you are in your 2nd trimester of pregnancy (not 1st), as well as the above options, you may also feel comfortable attending:

  • Our Beginner-Friendly classes. You can see which classes are Beginner-Friendly on our schedule here. You can practise with us in-studio or online via Zoom. A beginner-friendly class means that the class is a slower pace than a mixed level class so the teacher will have time to offer pregnancy-friendly options to poses that need to be modified. Please note that these classes aren't pregnancy specific so they may not be taught by a qualified Prenatal Yoga Teacher, and they are not solely for pregnant people so you’ll be in the class with non pregnant people.

LOTS OF YOGA EXPERIENCE?

If you have practiced a lot of yoga before and you are in your 2nd trimester of pregnancy (not 1st), and you are happy modifying your own practise to suit your pregnancy (as the teacher will not cue options in these classes - see tips below), as well as the above options, you may also feel comfortable attending:

  • Our Mixed Level classes. You can see which classes are Mixed Level on our schedule here. You can practise with us in-studio or online via Zoom.

  • Our On Demand Stretch classes and Gentle Yoga classes. You can rent each video for £3 for 3 days or pay £12 a month to have access to all these classes and the rest of our On Demand Library which contains over 100 pre-recorded videos. Check out the On Demand Video Hub here.

Please note that we always recommend consulting your doctor before you practise any yoga, particularly if you have developed any condition during your pregnancy including but not limited to high bloody pressure, symphysis pubis dysfunction, reflux etc.
