A relaxing retreat in the South of Portugal surrounded by beautiful countryside and golden sand beaches, spending our days eating fresh food, relaxing by the pool, spending time in nature, and practicing yoga and meditation.

THE VENUE

Located in South Portugal, our retreat property, Casa Terra, sits nestled in the countryside but only a stones throw away to explore old towns and beautiful beaches. Finely decorated using local materials, Casa Terra is a designers dream! With a fresh water pool, a wild swimming pond, our own yoga shala and beautiful grounds, you won’t need to leave the venue. There are a number of areas within the property for you to relax, either on your own or in groups, plus every room has access to a terrace with a table, chairs and some have a hammock; so it’s the perfect place to recharge your batteries in an oasis of greenery bathed in the light of the Algarve.

What's not included:

Flights (approx £280 return from NCL at the moment)
Transfers to and from the property (approx €60 for an 8 person car capable or taking 6 people and bags)
Transport to and from places in free time (we are 10 min from old towns and 15 min away from a number of beaches)
1 lunch (this will be an opportunity for a longer day trip)
1 dinner (we will book a table in the local town)

THE YOGA

Classes will be delivered by me, Claire Lormor, in the glass fronted yoga shala surrounded by the natural gardens and overlooking the wild swimming pond.

All yoga sessions will include breathwork, movement and meditation.
Morning practices will be a little more dynamic, practising a range of Vinyasa, Rocket, Mandala and 4Beat. While evening practices will be a little more relaxed, practising Yin, Restorative and Yoga Nidra. As always, I will accommodate beginners, intermediate and advanced yogis in all of the classes.

There will be two optional yoga workshops throughout the week. One ‘Arm Balances and Inversions’ and one TBC at the retreat (yogis choice).

Feel free to attend the retreat if you haven’t done yoga before, but I do recommend you attend at least 10 Vinyasa Flow style classes to get the most out of your stay.

The yoga shala has mats, yoga pillows and blocks for us to use. Feel free to bring your own if you wish.

FLIGHTS & GETTING TO THE PROPERTY

Casa Terra is 30 minutes from Faro airport. Transfers are €60 one way in a car that can fit 6 people and bags. To try and group people together I suggest the following flights:

NEWCASTLE > FARO Fri 31st Oct 06:45-09:45
FARO > NEWCASTLE Thu 6th Nov 10:45-14:00
These flights are currently £210pp with Jet2.com (probably cheaper from every other airport in the UK)

If you are coming from another airport, I’d advise trying to get similar flight times.

We’ll make a Whats App group before the retreat to try and coordinate travel.

THE LOCATION

A haven where you can reconnect with nature and find balance and harmony within. Ideally located to explore the beautiful Ria Formosa natural park, charming towns and villages, and the golden sand coastline and blue waters of the Algarve. 
Feel free to stay in the property the whole week and never leave! With a fresh water swimming pool, wild swimming pond, terraces and incredible grounds, I understand why you’d stay. However if you do wish to explore, you can get to Tavira town and Santa Luzia town in 10 minutes by taxi and the nearest beach in 15 minutes.


THE RoomS

The rooms in Casa Terra really make this venue stand out from the rest. Casa Terra’s unique bedrooms each have an ensuite PLUS access to an outdoor terrace with a table, two chairs and some have a hammock. All equally as beautiful, rooms can be arranged for single occupancy (kingsize bed) or dual occupancy (2 separate beds). Each room has air conditioning, fresh towels and hair dryers.
If you are coming alone and would like to share a room, you will be in a twin room and I will connect you with your room mate before the retreat.

Please note that check in time is 4pm and check out is 11am.

THE FOOD

Over 6 nights, we provide 6 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners, meaning 1 lunch and 1 dinner isn’t included. On the day we do not include lunch, we will be taking a day trip to a local town where you can explore and find your own local cuisine. On the the day we do not include dinner, we will book a local restaurant to enjoy together. Please keep around €30 for this. If you prefer to eat somewhere else that is completely fine.

All of the food in Casa Terra is freshly made in-house. We will provide a selection of meat, fish, vegetables and salad and where possible we will use local ingredients. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know.

YOUR HOST

Me, Claire Lormor. I am delighted to be your host for my 15th retreat!

I have been practising yoga for over 10 years and have been a qualified Yoga Teacher for over 6. I love teaching dynamic, creative and sweaty classes; however, I also enjoy teaching calming, relaxing and soothing styles of yoga.

Originally a Scientist, with a degree in Physiology, my yoga classes have a strong emphasis on understanding your own body as well as enjoying your practice, understanding why you need your yoga (whatever it looks like) and having a bit of chill time. Through movement, breath work and meditation, my classes will give you the perfect level of yang and yin that we all need. 

Spending over 10 years in the hospitality industry, I have created these retreats with you in mind and I know how important delicious food is. So don’t fear. You won’t be disappointed. For all of you who have been to my retreats before, the cook book is on the to-do list!’

A deposit of £300pp is required to save your spot. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
£500 can be paid any time before 30th June 2025.

Payment is given to WELLNESS SPACE via cash or online banking.

I’d recommend keeping €100 for transfers, lunch and dinner, which isn’t included in the price of the retreat.

I think you have the right balance of breath work, I can honestly say I don’t think I could have kept up as much as I did during the yoga sessions if it was not for listening to your instructions and counting. I usually find myself out if breath but felt more in control over the weekend. I felt relaxed during the yoga sessions never felt that I had to try and keep up with the more experienced yogis and could work at my own pace. The yoga studio was special had a peaceful calm feel to it when you walked in. It was warm, plenty of light.

This was my first ever retreat, and I honestly can’t wait for my next. The location and house were incredible. Feeling secluded from the outside world, with breath taking views across Northumberland. The house itself had lots of open space for the yoga, a large kitchen dining space as well as different cubbyholes to take yourself away with your book, if you so wished. Yoga classes were led by Claire, who is an amazing teacher and allows each session to be as much, or as little as you want. We had plenty time, outside of the designated classes, to complete your own practice and ask Claire for extra hints and tips! The food was delicious with brunch and dinner cooked by a registered dietitian and ample snacks available throughout the day. I came away feeling both relaxed and energised. Mum and I ventured up to Claire’s Wellness Retreat, much to our delight it was in the green rolling hills in the countryside. All rooms were beautiful and benefitted from en suites. There was a dedicated yoga studio. We enjoyed Vinyasa flow yoga in the mornings and gentle yoga and Yin Yoga in the evenings. During our break; it was fully catered; hot brunch after yoga (loved the butternut squash and feta combo as well as the hot Turkish eggs and beans) – all diets were catered for with lovely tasty home cooked food on the premises. Claire as a teacher is very special; she has a REAL passion for yoga and she was very inclusive whatever your level … would recommend to anyone.
