FAQs about Yoga Brunch
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
All participants need to be over the age of 16.
WHAT STYLE OF YOGA WILL IT BE?
We will teach a vinyasa flow style class that may involve a range of standing poses, seated poses, twists, leg balances and backbends, in addition to arm balances and inversions included in the SWEAT classes.
I HAVE NEVR DONE YOGA BEFORE. CAN I STILL JOIN?
Absolutely. Lots of alignment cues will be given in both classes. The RELAX class is better to start with as it’s a slower-pace, so you will have more time to settle in the poses and make sure all your limbs are where they are supposed to be.
I DON’T KNOW WHAT ‘SWEAT’ AND ‘RELAX’ MEAN?
Our SWEAT class is vinyasa yoga mixed with some strength training and cardio. Need something that'll give you a workout, stretch your muscles and relax you at the end? Then this is the one for you. No need to have yoga experience but must be fully mobile and ready to sweat. Not good for anyone who is injured or pregnant/post-natal.
Our RELAX class is vinyasa yoga that is gentle and slow-paced. Need something that won't involve a lot of movement but will stretch your muscles and help you relax? Then this is the one for you. No need to have yoga experience. Good for anyone who is injured, or pregnant/post-natal.
IS THIS A FEMALE THING OR CAN MEN COME?
Did you know that it’s only in the last hundred years that women have been ‘allowed’ to practise yoga? Yoga was created by men, practiced by men and passed on by men. In most of the world it is actually a male dominated activity. In yoga we do not discriminate against gender, religion or background. Literally EVERYONE is welcome.
Can I join if I’m pregnant?
If you get approval from your doctor, then you are more than welcome to join the Sunday morning RELAX class if you are pregnant or post-natal. However, please note that if you are pregnant, you should not twist, put pressure on your belly, lie on your back, do core work or do inversions. Additionally, you should hold onto a wall when doing balancing postures. Please let the teacher know your situation before the class begins so they can provide you with some modifications. Also, yoga is a personal practice so please stop if you feel pain or discomfort during the class.
Can I join if I’m injured?
The Sunday morning RELAX class is suitable for people with injuries. Please join us as long as you can move your legs, ankles, wrists and arms and put pressure on them all to some degree. Let the teacher know your situation before the class begins so they can provide you with some modifications. But also, know your limits. Yoga is a personal practice so please stop if you feel any pain or discomfort during the class.
Do I have to bring my own mat?
If you have your own mat, bring it. But we will have some spares.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO BRING?
Bring a water bottle, a sweat towel if you’re coming to the SWEAT class and any props that you normally use when you practice (unfortunately props are not provided).
WHAT SORT OF FOOD WILL BE SERVED?
Holmeside Coffee serve a great selection of fresh and locally sourced food. They have a variety of brunch options ranging from avocado smash, to oatmeal, to eggs Benedict. They don’t have an online menu but check them out before hand, or let it be a surprise.
CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE FOR MY FOOD ALLERGY?
Absolutely! Please let us know any allergies you have when you book your spot. We will ask you before you confirm your ticket.
CAN I CANEL MY TICKET AFTER I HAVE BOUGHT IT?
You can cancel your ticket, but unfortunately we do not give refunds or issue people with a credit that can be used at a later date. We are however happy to transfer your ticket to someone else you know. Please email us with the name and email address of the person you are transferring your ticket to no less than 24 hours before the event and we can arrange that for you.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
There is lots of free on-road parking around the Winter Gardens so you will have no problem.
